Maybe in real mode DOS (though I doubt it), but not in Windows

Windows (or any 32-bit OS, by design) gives each program a virtual memory space. Though my Dad used to have an old 300mhz laptop that could boot in 15 seconds by loading a saved state instead of 20. So sure, you could load your program's memory, and that's how a lot of games save, but you couldn't reboot a computer exactly like it was, nah.
Though there really isn't much benefit. You'd still have to load 200-some-odd megs off the hard drive, it'd still take quite a while to boot. Back to Programming Talk
