This thorough and fairly well-written tutorial demonstrates how to use the modem to send and receive data in QB. The tutorial explains all the commands and code, and does a good job of inserting sample code to demonstrate. This is a solid, informative, and well-made tutorial and if you're interested in using QB's built-in modem routines, it is definitely something to check out.

This tutorial shows how to access the joystick in QB without using QB's slow STICK and STRIG functions. The tutorial shows how to access port &201 well, but is overall a bit short and lacking in depth. Sample code could also have been helpful.

BIOS calls in QB. This is a tutorial that can be very handy to an experienced programer, but a newbie should probably refrain from reading this until they learn a bit more about BIOS itself. Messing with your BIOS CAN mess up your system! It can also help you out a lot IF you know what you're doing.
