- 1.  INTRO

Hi! This is the sequel to Dark Woods. A small,ascii based adventure-
game that I hope you'll enjoy.

- 2.  REQUIRMENTS
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Dark Woods 2 is tested using a Pentium II (233 Mhz).
VGA Montior,Graphic Card and a PC compatible keyboard is
required to run Dark Woods 2.
SoundFx by pc-speaker.

- 3.  ABOUT DARK WOODS
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Dark Woods 2 is a ASCII-graphic-adventure-game.
The product is developed unsing QB 4.5 (no libs or asm).
I've used my Pentium II 233Mhz, 64 Mb RAM, with SoundBlaster 16
to develop Dark Woods 2.

Dark Woods 2 includes 11 levels + option to make/play custom levels.

Score schedule:

Gold: 10 points
Jewel: 20 points
Orc: 30/20 (sword/bowshot) points
Troll: 50 points
Level complete: 100 points

I'll add a highscore table at my website (send or show me a snapshot
of your final score to be listed).

- 4.  INSTALL/SETUP
---------------------------------------------------------------------

  4.1 Install
  -----------
  To install Dark Woods 2,use WinZip. Make sure that the filestructure
  isn't changed in any ways.That can/will produce some errors.
  Also make sure you don't mess with the maps (.DAT) before you
  learn how it works (read 'mapmaker.txt').

  4.2 Setup
  ---------
  It's quite simple to run Dark Woods 2
  Start game using the file dwoods2.exe

- 5.  KEYS AND CONTROLLS

To navigate your hero,Eduin, in Dark Woods 2 use:

MOVE WEST    - Left Arrow
MOVE EAST    - Right Arrow
MOVE NORTH   - Up Arrow
MOVE SOUTH   - Down Arrow

USE SWORD    - Space Bar, followed by a arrowkey to direct thrust
SHOOT ARROW  - S, followed by a arrowkey to direct arrow
CAST SPELL   - M, followed by a arrowkey to direct Firwall Spell
WAIT         - .  When pressed WAIT the enemies will move
SUICIDE      - + When pressed Eduin commits suicide

OPEN DOORS   - Just walk over object
TAKE OBJECTS - Just walk over object

SOUND ON/OFF - F

QUIT         - ESC

- 6.   MAKE/PLAY CUSTOM MAPS
---------------------------------------------------------------------

To Make a Custom Map: 
1.Read 'mapmaker.txt'
2.Start making maps (remember to name them with .DAT)
3.Use "mymap.dat" if u wan't some hints and "easy-guiding".
4.Good luck!

To Play a Custom Map:
1.In the Game Menu you choose (L)oad Custom Map (by typing 'L')
2.type the name of file to load (not with the extension,engine add .Dat
so you don't have to do that) and press enter.
3.Enjoy
4.If u change you mind,don't type anything and press Enter.That will
take you back to the Game Menu.
5. Remember to add your maps to the folder with dwoods2.exe (otherwise
you will not be able to load them).
