Unofficial Tournament
March, 2001 - Created by Joe King

What is Unofficial Tournament?
Unofficial Tournament is a shoot-em-up type game. You start off
on a battleground with some other players and see if you can get
the most kills within a selected time.

Contols:
  Player 1 Controls:
    Cursor Keys - move around
    CTRL or SPACEBAR - fire
  Player 2 Controls:
    W - UP
    S - DOWN
    A - LEFT
    D - RIGHT
    TAB or F - fire
  Other Controls:
    P - Pause
    Esc - End

Weapons:
Each weapon that each person has is a little different. Some
explode, some freeze people, some move faster than others. However,
you don't get hurt by your own weapon unless it created an explosion
and your in it.

People:
The people in this game are based off of real life people. No, I
don't want to kill them, this whole game was just suppose to be
a little simple shoot-em-up game with my buddies and friends in
it.
Every person in this game has the same amount of life, one hit
and your dead unless your frozen(which you'll be dead in a little
bit).

Kills:
Once a person dies, the person that killed that person gets a kill.
Unless it's himself, then he'll get a negative kill. Anyway, once
you die you reappear somewhere on the map. If you are playing co-op
with a friend, you'll appear next to(I should say onto) your friend.

Multiplayer:
You can verse a friend over the serial or on the keyboard. Or you
can be a team(do this by selecting Yes in the Co-Op Play in the options
menu) and fight the computer together. The serial game play has many
bugs and hasn't been fully tested.

Options:
Difficulty - How hard the computers play.
Blood & Gore - How much blood and gore appears in the game when
somebody dies. It tends to get very gorey with it
set high and you could lose yourself in all of that
                 gore.
Time Limit - How long each battle is.
Unfair Fire - Not really unfair, but when bullets, rockets, etc. hit
another bullet, rocket, etc., or and explosion, they
set off of explode. This means that your rockets can
backtrace to you from explosions, so be careful. There
are many bugs in the game with this option set on.
Co-Op Play - When you do multiplayer with another friend, you are
both teamed up against the computer. You cannot hurt
each other with your weapons unless you create an
explosion next to your team mate. When you die, you
start off next to your team mate, and both your kills
will be counted up at the end.
Bonus Items - Bonus items randomly appear on the map, these have the
                 Unofficial Tournament logo(a 'T' inside a 'U') with
a letter next to them. The letter next to the logo
                 is the special.
                 F - Rapid fire
                 I - Invinsibility
A - Fire in all four directions
K - Everyone accept you gets killed, and you get all
                     of those kills
Every bonus item, accept invinsibility, last until
                 you die.
Grass & Dirt - For grass or dirt to appear on the battlegrounds.

Hacking into Unofficial Tournament:
When you run UT.EXE, it assembles everyhting into a file(UT.DAT), and
then runs UTRUN.EXE which load in the data from the UT.DAT file and
starts the game. You can load in a UT.DAT file with Notepad or some
other text editor and change some of the settings.
