TOTAL DESTRUCTION 2-level DEMO VERSION

TD is a shoot em up game like raptor.
I think it is one of the most beautifull and fun to play games ever made in QB
It has great graphics (as good as raptor) and even better explosions.
I think this game sets a new standard in QB programming.
The (Raptor-like) engine is very small and can do a lot.
No ems or xms was is used by the game so this engine has its limitations.
But i'm planning to make a version for SVGA-TRUECOLLOR with sound and XMS
Only I need a stable lib to do this. Every Lib I used seemed to have trouble
in svgamode with windowsXP (screencorruption in windows XP)

As the name suggests this game is rather destructive,
Flying over an alien spacestation You can destroy lots of different enemies,
towers and buildings.

Unfortunataly no sound was supported since I have no expertise with blasters
and stuff, I'm working on this anyway.

The game was tested on an athlon 1000 a pentium 400 and a cyrix 120
The game should work on Dos and any kind of windows (win3.11 not tested)
On all these machines the game ran good.

When compiled a pentium pentium 100 is required for best playability.
This requirement is a lot more than raptors requirements but remember QB is 16 bit
and the explosions in the game sometimes constist out of more than 100 sprites
The lib I used runs best on a pentium since it was optimized for it.
Therefore I expect the game to reaaaly suck on a 486.
Also a particle engine and a starengine use some cpupower.
No ems or xms is needed the lib i used did not support it.
This has several implications I'm not confident with
One is lack of tilediversity, I could only load 160 different tiles without running
into memory problems, But the game looks quite good so it's no real big problem
There is also a lot room left to make more levels enemies and tiles for other new
levels.

I worked very hard to make this as fast and small as possible, some
beautifull programming you can see if you look at the basfile. However
sometimes it is complex and difficult to understand, but hey it works!

THANKS TO RICHARD ERIC M. LOPE (relsoft) for his lib.
(And Richard if you see this tell me if your new rellib with xmssupport is to
come out soon.)

Please share this on every QB related site.
(type runtd.exe to start, adjust gamespeed in optionsmenu)
ENJOY THE GAME
